Shorter hair is not only cooler and easier to maintain during the sweltering summer months, but also right on trend this season.

Mega-celebs like Jennifer Aniston, Katherine Heigl, Ginnifer Goodwin, Dianna Agron and Brooklyn Decker are just a few of the celebrities who have shorn their locks in the past few months. Says celebrity stylist Ted Gibson (responsible for Brooklyn Decker's highly publicized 12-inch chop a couple of months ago): "It's called spring fling. Hollywood is in need of a makeover, and Brooklyn Decker is right on trend. This length is fresh, sexy and cutting-edge."

To keep your crop cute in the summer months:

Air-dry your locks to create waves.

Apply some curl-defining mousse to your wet hair, and then coil hair into four sections before letting it be.

Keep ends conditioned.

Because your ends are on display when they're up higher and closer to your face, be sure to keep them moisturized with a good leave-in conditioner.

Use fabulous accessories.
