The Academy Awards are more than just the biggest night of the year for the film industry; they also set the trend for spring's best hair and makeup looks.
A few standouts from the 83rd annual Academy Awards:
Nude Lips and Glowing Skin
Both Michelle Williams and Halle Berry have short pixies that set off their striking bone structure, so they don't have to try too hard to look even more gorgeous. Nude lips and a pop of peach blush are all the stunning actresses needed to complete their looks.
Bronze-based Smokey Eyes
Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence both opted for smoky eyes in a deep bronze. The hue is softer and younger than a traditional charcoal smoky eye, and it sets off blue and green eyes beautifully.
Finger Waves
Marcel waves, or finger waves, call to mind classic Hollywood glamour. Amy Adams wore her wavy hair down and flowy, while Best Actress winner Natalie Portman paired her waves with a side-swept style and low side part.
Straight and Sleek
Gwyneth Paltrow wore her baby-blond locks straight and parted them in the center, while Penelope Cruz styled her honey-highlighted brunette hair with a touch of volume and softness. Both variations of the style show off gorgeous color and healthy shine.
