Jeannine Morris
One of the hottest trends of the '70s -- straight, center-parted hair -- has made a comeback in a modernized way. From the streets of Hollywood to red-carpet events, celebs like Reese Witherspoon and Lea Michelle are just two of Hollywood's leading ladies donning center-parted bangs.
"Parting the bang opens up the face and brings out the eyes," says Hallie Bowman, a celebrity stylist for Pantene. "It's a natural option for rocking the long-bang look."
The key to styling center-parted bangs is to apply a lightweight, controlling product -- like mousse or spray gel -- prior to blow-drying so they hold shape throughout the day. To achieve the perfect bend, blow-dry your bangs as if you wanted a deep side-part on both sides. Then, split the bangs down the middle. This technique will bring the bangs forward and make them curve nicely around your face.
The look is perfect for someone who is in the process of growing out her bangs or someone who's looking for a change that isn't too dramatic.
