Minnesota Vikings running back ADRIAN PETERSON, Carolina Panthers defensive end JULIUS PEPPERS and New York Giants linebacker CHASE BLACKBURN are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for NFL 2008 Week 10 (November 6, 9-10).

Denver Broncos quarterback JAY CUTLER, Baltimore Ravens linebacker RAY LEWIS and Tennessee Titans punter CRAIG HENTRICH are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played NFL 2008 Week 10 (November 6, 9-10).

RB ADRIAN PETERSON, VIKINGS
NFC Offensive Player of the Week

In the Vikings 28-27 win over division rival Green Bay Packers, Adrian Peterson had 30 carries for 192 yards (6.4 average), including the game-winning 29-yard touchdown with 2:22 remaining.

The win gives the Vikings a tie for first place in the NFC North with the Chicago Bears.

Peterson's performance was the fourth-highest rushing total in Vikings franchise history and the second-year back from Oklahoma has three of the top four marks, including an NFL-record 296 yards (November 4, 2007 vs. San Diego).

Peterson added three catches for 33 yards and finished with 225 scrimmage yards. Against the Green Bay Packers, Peterson had 11 combined first-downs and seven runs of at least 10 yards. This season, the 2007 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year leads the league in rushing with 1,015 yards.

In his second season from Oklahoma, this NFL 2008 Week 10 honor is Peterson's third career Player of the Week Award. He was honored twice last season (Weeks 6 and 9). Peterson is the only running back in franchise history to win the award three times. He is the second Viking to be honored with a weekly award this season, joining cornerback ANTOINE WINFIELD (Defense, Week 5).

DE JULIUS PEPPERS, CAROLINA PANTHERS - NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Peppers tied a team record with three sacks and forced two fumbles in the Panthers 17-6 win at Oakland thus earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for NFL 2008 Week 10. The win improved Carolina's record to 7-2 and the team sits in first place in the NFC South.

The game marked the seventh time in Peppers career that he has had three sacks in a game and the first since November 13, 2006 against Tampa Bay.

Peppers, who finished the game with seven tackles, had two sacks in the first quarter and added his third sack in the fourth period. He forced fumbles on two of his three sacks. Peppers is the Panthers franchise leader with 63 sacks and 24 forced fumbles.

In his seventh year from North Carolina, this is Peppers second career Player of the Week Award (Week 10, 2006). He is the second Panther to be honored with a weekly award this season, joining quarterback JAKE DELHOMME (Offense, Week 4). Peppers and MIKE RUCKER are the only defensive players in franchise history to win the award multiple times.

LB CHASE BLACKBURN, NEW YORK GIANTS - NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

The Giants linebacker and special teamer had a team-high three special teams tackles and recovered a fumble on a kickoff return. He also helped preserve the Giants 36-31 win over Philadelphia with a key tackle on fourth-and-one with under two minutes to go in the game.

In the first quarter, after New York tied the score at 7-7, Blackburn recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and returned it 12 yards to the Philadelphia 13-yard line. That set up a field goal to put the Giants ahead 10-7. With under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, with the Giants clinging to a five-point lead and the Eagles driving, Blackburn stopped the Philadelphia running back on fourth-and-one to give New York the ball and seal the win.

In his fourth season from Akron, this NFL 2008 Week 10 award is Blackburn's first career Player of the Week Award. He is the third Giant to be honored with a weekly award this season, joining kicker JOHN CARNEY (Special Teams, Week 3) and defensive end MATHIAS KIWANUKA (Defense, Week 8).

QB JAY CUTLER, DENVER BRONCOS - AFC Offensive Player of the Week

In a Thursday night primetime thriller against the Cleveland Browns, Jay Cutler completed 24 of 42 passes (57.1 percent) for a career-high 447 yards with three touchdowns versus one interception and a 107.9 passer rating in a 34-30 comeback win.

The leader of the AFCs top-ranked offense, Jay Cutlers 447 passing yards were the most in a game by an AFC quarterback in NFL 2008.

Cutler recorded all three of his touchdowns in the fourth quarter, starting with a 93-yard strike to rookie wide receiver EDDIE ROYAL. His second touchdown came on a 28-yard toss to tight end DANIEL GRAHAM. Late in the fourth quarter, the third-year quarterback posted his third score of the game on an 11-yard game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver BRANDON MARSHALL.

In his third season from Vanderbilt, this NFL 2008 Week 10 honor is quarterback Jay Cutler's first AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award. He joins JOHN ELWAY, BRIAN GRIESE, GARY KUBIAK and JAKE PLUMMER as the fifth Broncos quarterback to win the award.

LB RAY LEWIS, BALTIMORE RAVENS - AFC Defensive Player of the Week

The Baltimore Ravens passionate and vocal leader, Ray Lewis posted a team-high nine tackles, two interceptions and two passes defensed as Baltimore defeated the Texans 41-13, earning the Ravens their fourth win in a row and AFC Defensive Player of the Week for NFL 2008 Week 10 for Ray Lewis.

The All-Star linebacker recorded the third two-interception game of his career, marking the first time since 2001 (12/23 against Cincinnati) that he accomplished the feat. Lewis and the Ravens defense limited Houston to 75 rushing yards on the day, which extended the NFL's longest current streak (28 games) of not allowing a 100-yard rusher. Ray Lewis leads the NFLs second ranked defense with 92 tackles through NFL 2008 Week 10.

In his 13th year from Miami, this is Ray Lewis' seventh career Defensive Player of the Week Award. He joins TERRELL SUGGS as the second Ravens linebacker to win the award in 2008.

Punter CRAIG HENTRICH, TENNESSEE TITANS - AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Craig Hentrich played a pivotal role on special teams for the Titans NFL 2008 Week 10 game as Tennessee extended its win streak to 12 consecutive regular season games in a 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears.

Facing a talented Bears special teams unit led by PR-WR DEVIN HESTER and strong wind gusts at Soldier Field in Chicago, Craig Hentrich punted eight times for 302 yards (37.8 average) and matched a career-high with five punts inside the 20-yard line.

The 15-year veteran helped limit the Bears' average starting point to their 21-yard line. Tennessee's special teams captain is tied for first in the NFL with 20 punts inside the 20-yard line through NFL 2008 Week 10 (BRAD MAYNARD).

In his 15th season from Notre Dame, this is Hentrich's fifth career Special Teams Player of the Week Award and his fourth with the Titans/Oilers. He most recently won the award in 2003 (Week 16).
