Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was fined $100,000 by the NFL for his hit on Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan Sunday but escaped possible suspension.

Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy returned an interception for a touchdown on the play, though it was overturned due to the penalty.

The Lions went on to win 34-24.

"Suh was penalized for violating Rule 12, Section 2, Article 5 (a), which prohibits blocks below the waist by players of either team after a change of possession," the league said in its statement.
