All you need is some cereal and a variety of spices to transform this tried-and-true side dish.

Crunchy Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

Crunchy Sweet Potato Fries Recipe Ingredients

1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 cups Kellogg's Smart Start cereal

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon kosher salt

1/4 cup vegetable or olive oil

Crunchy Sweet Potato Fries Recipe Directions

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Cut the fries into batons, making sure that they are evenly cut.

Place the fries in a re-sealable plastic bag, add the cornstarch, seal the bag and shake until the fries are evenly coated.

In a small bowl, combine cereal with the spices and salt.

Add the oil to the bag with the fries, along with the cereal mix.

Re-seal the bag and shake until the fries are coated.

Spread the coated fries in an even layer on a nonstick baking sheet.

Bake in the oven for 40 minutes, turning once or twice during cooking time. Serve alone or with ketchup, if desired.

Note: These Crunchy Sweet Potato Fries work best when baked on a nonstick baking sheet. A foil-lined sheet pan causes some sticking not seen with the nonstick surface.
