LeBron and Wade Torch Pacers as Heat Level Series 2-2
2012 NBA Playoffs
Indianapolis, IN
Dwyane Wade bounced back from a so-so performance in Game 3 and LeBron James recorded a near triple-double as Miami's power duo guided the Heat to a 101-93 victory against the Indiana Pacers and tie the series at 2-2 in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference second round series.
With their backs against the wall for the first time this postseason, the Heat once again rose to the occasion and gained a crucial road win as the series returns to Miami Tuesday.
Wade, who scored five points on 2-for-13 shooting in Game 3, exploded for 30 points and contributed 9 boards and 6 dimes in 40 minutes of action. James racked up 40 points, 18 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 blocks in another outstanding playoff performance for the reigning NBA MVP.
Coming off a morale-boosting victory last weekend, the Pacers opened up the game with the same mindset as they built a significant lead in the early going.
Indiana had an 11-point edge in the second quarter and clinched 54-46 cushion on a buzzer-beating floater from Leandro Barbosa at the break.
However, the James-Wade tandem proved too much for the Pacers as the duo scored 38 points in a 13-minute span stretching between the second and third quarter.
The Heat took the lead on three-point shot from Wade and built the bulge to 10 points.
The Pacers won't back down easily, keeping the game close at 92-85 with still 3:05 minutes remaining on the clock.
Unfortunately for Indiana, the Heat received a much needed help outside James and Wade as veteran forward Udonis Haslem (14 pts) knocked down two crucial jump shots to put the icing on the cake.
Danny Granger scored a team-high 20 points and Darren Collison tallied 16 markers off the bench for the Pacers, who shot 42 percent on the floor.
The Heat dominated the paint despite the absence of Chris Bosh (abdominal strain), grabbing 47 rebounds and swatting nine shots.
With the series all locked up at 2-2, the Heat and Pacers will gun for a decisive 3-2 series edge in Game 5 at American Airline Arena.
