Google+ received high marks for customer satisfaction on the Social Media Customer Satisfaction list.
It beat out other social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Google+ scored a 78 rating, 17 percent higher than Facebook's 61. Other social media sites that scored higher than Facebook are: Wikipedia (78), YouTube (73), Pinterest (69), Twitter (64) and LinkedIn (63).
Facebook is ranked eighth on the list this year, declining by 7.6 percent from last year's findings. Apparently, even if millions of users are on Facebook, they aren't as happy with its service as they are with others. According to analytics company ForeSee, Google+ satisfies users because it places privacy as its number one priority. It also does not have as much advertising on it as Facebook. Facebook's introduction of their new interface called Timeline is very unpopular with its users.
Google+ has not been able to gain the attention it hoped it would when it was first released last year. The social media site is hoping that they attract new users since they provide better customer service than competitor Facebook. It's ironic given Facebook prioritizes to keep users happy than advertisers.
According to a report by CNET News, ForeSee's Larry Freed said in a statement, "It's worth asking how much customer satisfaction matters for Facebook, given its unrivaled 800 million user base. But I expect Google to leverage its multiple properties and mobile capabilities to attract users at a rapid pace.
If Facebook doesn't feel the pressure to improve customer satisfaction now, that may soon change," Freed added.
The report must've stung Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, as his company quickly released a statement.
In the statement released by Facebook: "We care deeply about the experience people have on Facebook and that's why we're so focused on building and improving the products we offer. Giving people the means to interact with the people when they want, where they want and how they want is the most meaningful way for us to make our relationship with people even stronger."
