Facebook Reaches One Trillion Hits

Number one social networking site Facebook continues to break records.
Besides having the most members at over 500 million, the portal made Internet history again by registering 1 trillion hits, according to a report posted by DoubleClick, Google's ad subsidiary.
In June, Facebook had 870 million hits.
With the 1 trillion hits, Facebook stayed on top of Google's 1,000 most visited websites, followed by YouTube, Yahoo.live.com and Wikipedia.
The list excludes adult sites, ad networks, domains that lack publicly visible content or don't load properly and some Google sites.
Last month, a report by software engineer Christopher Finke showed that Facebook and Google were the most-typed websites. On third spot was youtube.com, fourth placer was gmail.com and fifth was mail.google.com.
The report said that Google and Facebook were not as dominant in four countries, namely: Russia, Finland, Korea and China.
Websites with .com domain made up 63 percent of all typed top-level domains, followed by .org, .net and de.
Rankings, however, may soon change when the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers approve a plan to sell more customized top-level domains.
