Zach Parise, Bryce Salvador Goals Lift Devils Over Kings
2012 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs
Newark, NJ
Zach Parise scored on a power play in the first period and Bryce Salvador tacked on a second period tally, lifting the New Jersey Devils to a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings in game five of the Stanley Cup finals.
Marty Brodeur collected 25 saves in his second straight strong effort, helping the Devils force at least a game six in a series that seemed to be over when L.A. forged a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven contest.
L.A. is still up 3-2 in the best of seven affair.
Justin Williams scored early in the second period to tie it at 1-1 for the Kings, though the Devs netted the eventual game-winner just 5:30 later.
Jonathan Quick collected 17 stops for the Kings, who hope to wrap up the series Monday night at Staples Center.
