Defense Bails out Florida in Win over Mizzou

Florida's Mike Gillislee went 45 yards on a screen pass from Jeff Driskel for a touchdown to top Missouri 14-7.
Josh Evans then sealed the victory by intercepting James Franklin's fourth-down pass in the end zone with five seconds remaining.
The victory clinched at least a share of the SEC's Eastern Division for Florida Gators and eclipsed last season's win total. The Gators (8-1, 7-1 SEC) need the Bulldogs to lose its remaining SEC game against Auburn next week to clinch a spot in the league title game.
The offense needed to be bailed out again by a stifling defense resulting in four critical interceptions and stopping Mizzou on six consecutive drives.
Florida failed to score in the first half, resulting in a 7-0 halftime lead by Missouri.
The Gators managed just 111 yards before Omarius Hines scored on a 36-yard jet sweep to tie the game.
The Gators finished with 276 total yards, went 2 of 13 on third downs and struggled in the passing game.
Driskel completed 12 of 23 passes for 106 yards, with nearly half of that coming on the screen pass. Gillislee ran 16 times for 68 yards -- his fourth consecutive game under 70 yards.
Florida's defense has done it all season, the main reason it's in this position.
"Can their offense make big plays on a defense that's coming? We're relentless and that's how we want to play and that's how we strive to play every week," said Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.
"When you have a defense like our defense has been playing, just don't turn the ball over," Driskel said.
