Cleveland, OH (AHN Sports)
Perhaps now Cleveland can move on into the post-LeBron James era.
Still playing the role of jilted bride, the city of Cleveland is waking up Monday morinng feeling just a little bit better about itself thanks to the Dallas Mavericks.
Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Jason Kidd and company squashed James' championship dream Sunday night with a 105-95 victory in Game 6 of the NBA finals.
The title was the first for the Mavericks and left James with as many rings as he seems to have fans in Cleveland ... none.
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert saluted the Dallas Mavericks just minutes after they won the crown Sunday with a 105-95 victory in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
It didn't take long after the final horn for LeBron's exes to chime in and they could barely contain their glee over his demise.
Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was among the first to offer his opintion
"Congrats to Mark (Cuban) & entire Mavs org," Gilbert said on his Twitter account. "Mavs NEVER stopped & now entire franchise gets rings. Old Lesson for all: There are NO SHORTCUTS. NONE."
Gilbery has been highly critical of James since his ill-advised "Decision" show on ESPN when he decided to "take his talents to South Beach".
The Mavs took their talents down to South Beach and put the Heat away with another strong fourth-quarter display while James looked uncomfortable and out of sync when the game was on the line.
It made some of James' former teammates extremely happy.
"Well deserved Dallas," former Cavaliers guard Mo Williams said on his Twitter account. "Dallas just healed my HEART."
