Spring Break in Arizona
If you are fortunate enough to have a few days off, Arizona residents determined to find some Spring Break sun, fun, water, and overindulgence have two choices within driving distance.
Spring Break in Arizona originally appeared on About.com Phoenix on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 at 10:38:24.
For many of us, Spring Break doesn't mean a vacation or holiday. If you are sticking around the Phoenix area, but the kids have a break from School, you'll want to plan some Spring Break activities to keep them busy and enjoying their time away from studies. Here are more than 15 ideas for things to do in the Greater Phoenix area during Spring Break.

Daylight Saving Time in Arizona
Even though we don't change our clocks here no matter when Daylight Saving Time stops or starts, you should probably take note of the dates so that you don't call Aunt Sally too late at night, and so you know when the stock market opens and such. And even though you might not care about Daylight Saving Time, your computers, iPhones, TiVos and a host of other items that may have been programmed before this change, so be careful to check that they are NOT set to observe DST. You wouldn't want your recording of American Idol to be an hour off! Finally, if you have appointments with people who live in other time zones, you might want to verify the time of that appointment again in case they forgot about the DST change. I know I will. Daylight Saving Time in Arizona originally appeared on About.com Phoenix on Friday, March 12th, 2010 at 09:03:52.
Every March most people spring forward--you know, set their clocks an hour ahead to return to Daylight Saving Time. And every fall they fall back. In 2007 and beyond, Congress decreed that this would happen at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and on the first Sunday in November. The second Sunday in March is this coming Sunday, March 14, 2010. That's nice to know, but here in Phoenix we don't ever change our clocks.
Scottsdale Arts Festival
As an example of some of the wonderful art pieces you'll see at the Festival, the 43 x 43 inches quilt entitled Stella Luna by Ginger O'Neil from St. Louis, Mo. is pictured here.
Put on your walking shoes, bring the kids (but leave Fido home) and I'll see you in Scottsdale.
Scottsdale Arts Festival originally appeared on About.com Phoenix on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at 10:59:52.
The Scottsdale Arts Festival will sneak up on us a little earlier than usual this year.
If walking around the beautiful grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall on a sunny (we hope!) Scottsdale day perusing unique works of arts and listening to live musical entertainment is your idea of spending a relaxing day, then I don't want to you to miss this year's event. It is this coming weekend and runs Friday through Sunday.

At a local sports bar some of the prominent words I noted in the inspection report included "hanging greasy dust," "slime matter," brown greasy matter" and "pink slimy matter." Colorful, no? Here are the worst offenders for the month of February, and of, course, then you can see hundreds of restaurants that did a great job. Read more...

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be back at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix playing 81 home games scheduled through next September. Single-game tickets for Arizona Diamondbacks games go on sale this Saturday, March 6, 2010. I'll bet the tickets for the Dbacks vs. Yankees sell fast!
