Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp Named Super Bowl LVI MVP

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp was voted the winner of the Pete Rozelle Trophy awarded to the Super Bowl LVI Most Valuable Player.

Kupp had eight receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown catch with 1:25 remaining in the fourth quarter. He also had seven rushing yards.

Cooper Kupp is the eighth wide receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP and the first since New England wide receiver Julian Edelman in Super Bowl LIII.

Kupp joins Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Montana (1989) as the only players to win Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player in the same season.

Kupp had 33 receptions during the 2021 NFL Playoffs and surpassed Travis Kelce (31 receptions during the 2020 postseason) for the most receptions in a single postseason all-time. He also registered 478 receiving yards this postseason, trailing only Larry Fitzgerald (546 receiving yards in 2008) for the most in a single postseason ever.

Super Cooper Kupp

Rams wide receiver COOPER KUPP led the NFL in each of the three major receiving categories -- receptions (145), yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16) -- and is the first player in league history to lead the NFL in those three categories for a team that advanced to the Super Bowl. He is the third player to lead the league in receiving yards and appear in the Super Bowl in the same season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer JERRY RICE (1989 and 1994) and DREW PEARSON (1977).

Kupp has totaled 25 receptions for 386 yards and four touchdowns during the 2021 postseason. On Sunday, he can surpass TRAVIS KELCE (31 receptions during the 2020 postseason) for the most receptions in a single postseason all-time and become the second player ever to reach 500 receiving yards in a single playoff run, joining LARRY FITZGERALD (546 receiving yards in 2008).
