84th Academy Awards Nominations Announced | 2012 Oscar Nominations

"Hugo" with 11, and "The Artist" with 10, lead with the most Oscar nominations.

Friends Brad Pitt and George Clooney will face each other in the best actor category. And Meryl Streep will have go up against Michelle Williams for best actress.

The nominations for best picture are: "The Artist," "The Descendants," "The Help," "Moneyball," "Hugo," "War Horse," "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," "The Tree of Life" and "Midnight in Paris."

The nominees for best actor are: George Clooney for "The Descendants," Brad Pitt for "Moneyball," Jean Dujardin for "The Artist," Demian Bichir for "A Better Life," and Gary Oldman for "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy."

Nominees for best actress are Michelle Williams for "My Week with Marilyn," Meryl Streep for "The Iron Lady," Viola Davis for "The Help," Glenn Close for "Albert Nobbs," and Rooney Mara for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

The nominees for best supporting actor are Christopher Plummer for "Beginners," Nick Nolte for "Warrior," Kenneth Branagh for "My Week With Marilyn," Jonah Hill for "Moneyball," and Max von Sydow for "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Dangerous."

Best supporting actress nominees are Melissa McCarthy for "Bridesmaids," Jessica Chastain for "The Help," Octavia Spencer for "The Help," Janet McTeer for "Albert Nobbs," and Berenice Bejo for "The Artist."

Best animated feature nominees are "A Cat in Paris," "Chico & Rita," "Kung Fu Panda 2," "Puss in Boots" and "Rango."
