North Carolina State survived a late scare and advanced to its first Sweet 16 since 2005 with a 66-63 victory over Georgetown in a Midwest Regional matchup

Lorenzo Brown missed his second foul shot with four seconds left and Georgetown's Jason Clark missed a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer.

The 11th-seeded Wolfpack (24-12) will face either second-seeded Kansas or No. 10 seed Purdue in the Midwest Regional semifinals on Friday in St. Louis.

C.J. Williams, Scott Wood and C.J. Leslie scored 14 points apiece for the Wolfpack. Wood made four of his five 3-point attempts.

The third-seeded Hoyas (24-9) led 25-15 with five minutes to play in the first half before the Wolfpack responded with a 15-2 run.

North Carolina State extended its lead to 11 with 14 minutes to go before Georgetown's Hollis Thompson scored nine straight points to turn the momentum.

Thompson scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half for Georgetown.
