Murray State raced past Colorado State in an NCAA Tournament opener, posting an impressive 58-41 win.

Isaiah Canaan scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Monte Poole added 14 for the victors.

Colorado State, which trailed just 24-23 at the break, shot poorly in connecting on just 33.3 percent of its field goals including just 3 of 14 attempts from long distance.

The Rams starters were just 6 of 23 and the sloppy Rams committed 21 turnovers to just 7 for the victors.

CSU ended its season 20-12, while the Racers are 31-1 and advance to the second-round.

Pierce Hornung led the Rams with 12 points and he also grabbed 17 rebounds.
