The Detroit Tigers lived up for another day as they belted four homers to beat the Texas Rangers, 7-5 Thursday in Game 5 of their American League Championship Series at Comerica Field.

Alex Avila, Ryan Raburn, Delmon Young, and Miguel Cabrera all came up with key hits to keep the Tigers' World Series dream alive as the ALCS heads back to Arlington for Saturday's Game 6.

Avila opened things up for the Tigers with a one-run jack in the third inning, while Young delivered a pair of homers to power his team's offense.

Miguel Cabrera remains a valuable cog for his team in the postseason, pulling off an RBI double to ignite a pivotal Tigers rally midway into the match.

Raburn capped the Tigers homer barrage with another home run in the 7th, inning, while ace hurler Justin Verlander struck out eight batters and surrendered eight hits and four runs into the eighth inning.

Josh Hamilton kept the Rangers floating with two RBIs in the early innings and Nelson Cruz pulled off a two-run homer to give his team one more gasp in the 8th inning.

Starter C.J. Wilson collected five strikeouts but allowed eight hits and six runs in six innings in the defeat.

With the momentum switching, the Tigers look to tie up the series at 3-3 Saturday at Comerica field.
