Clemson, SC

Sophomore Quarterback Tajh Boyd completed 30-of-42 passes for 386 yards and four touchdowns and the Clemson Tigers rallied past the Auburn Tigers, 38-24, Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Clemson proved they are a team-to-watch this season after pulling off a win over the reigning BCS champs.

Boyd, who entered the game averaging 262.5 yards with six TDs, raised his game to another level as he ripped apart Auburn's defense with his sharp passes.

Freshman wideout Sammy Watkins was the most productive among Clemson's receiving corps, nabbing 10 receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

Auburn junior quarterback Barrett Trotter went 12-for-25 for 198 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Sophomore running back Michael Dyer had 16 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

With Dyer scoring two rushing TDs and Trotter hooking up with Emory Blake for a score, Auburn looked on its way to another victory early on.

However, the complexion of the game changed when Boyd starting to get hot and running back Andre Ellington scored on a 6-yard run to tie it, 21-21, at the half.

Clemson sustained their strong rally in the second half as Boyd connected with Watkins twice to give them a 35-24 lead at the end of the third.

Kicker Chandler Catanzaro iced the game with 38-yard field goal, sending Auburn to their first loss since the end of the 2009 season against Alabama.
