Andre Dawkins netted 26 points and Seth Curry chipped in with 20 as Duke topped Michigan State 74-69 Tuesday night at MSG.
The win was No. 903 in the remarkable college coaching career of Mike Krzyzewski, who eclipsed Bob Knight for the all-time victories mark for Division I men's basketball.
Knight, the coaching great who racked up most of his wins at Indiana, was in attendance as a broadcaster for ESPN. He also served as Coach K's mentor at Army.
"I'm not sure people tell you this," Krzyzewski said he told Knight, according to the News & Observer. "But I love you, and I love what you've done for me." " 'Boy,' " Krzyzewski said Knight replied, " 'you've done pretty good for a kid who couldn't shoot.' And I think that means he loves me."
Duke drained 10 of 21 three-pointers to improve to 3-0 on the season.
MSU fell to 0-2 after its second loss to a team on Tobacco Road, already falling to North Carolina.
