London, England

Oscar and Frank Lampard scored in the first half as Chelsea secured its spot in the top four of the Premier League standings with a 2-0 win over Swansea at Stamford Bridge.

Oscar struck in the 43rd minute while Lampard, a substitute, buried the penalty just before the half-time whistle to extend Swansea's winless run to six games.

"Always to win is good. To score two goals and a clean sheet at this stage of the season with so many games and to play very good football in attack with our combinations, I am really pleased," interim manager Rafael Benitez said.

Benitez praised Lampard, who replaced Ramires 20 minutes into the game, for his outstanding performance.

"Frank is a great player. I'm really pleased because he scored another goal. Hopefully he can score five before the end of the season and he will be much happier. He was important for us," Benitez said.

Lampard was instrumental in the team's first goal as he set up Oscar's strike past Michel Vorm into the far corner.

Then, Lampard calmly sank a penalty after Juan Mata was upended in the area by Leon Britton in the 46th minute mark.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie scored on his return to Arsenal to help newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester United snatch a 1-1 draw.

Theo Walcott gave Arsenal the early lead when he scored two minutes into the game but van Persie tied the count in the 44th minute with a penalty kick.

The deadlock leaves Arsenal's chances of finishing in the Premier League's top four in peril with fifth-placed Tottenham two points behind, but with a match in hand.

Reading and Queens Park Rangers were both relegated from the Premier League after they played out a 0-0 draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Both sides needed a win to keep their mathematical chances of survival alive, but both teams played a lackluster game, resulting in a scoreless tie.
