Peyton Hillis helped the Cleveland Browns pick up a win they absolutely had to have.

With Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Peyton Manning out injured and the Browns coming off a lackluster home loss in Week 1, Hillis ran for two touchdowns to power Cleveland to a 27-19 victory.

The Colts are off to their first 0-2 start in 13 years while the Browns earned head coach Pat Shurmur his first career win and ended a five-game losing streak to the Colts.

Indianapolis lost its home opener for the first time since 2002 and is 0-2 for the first time since 1998, Manning's rookie season. Cleveland, meanwhile, earned its first win over Indianapolis since 1994 - the year before the original Browns left for Baltimore.

Hillis scored on a one-yard run just before the half to put Cleveland up 14-12 lead. He added a 24-yard touchdown run after 43-yard punt return from Josh Cribbs sealed the win.

Playing without Manning, who is still out following neck surgery, Indianapolis opned the season with a 34-7 loss to Houston and entered this one as desperate as Cleveland.

The Colts offense still sputtered Sunday against the Browns and did not score a touchdown until Kerry Collins threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Clark with 24 seconds to play.

Adam Vinatieri kicked four field goals for Indianapolis, all in the first half, including a 52-yarder.
