Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers didn't miss a beat for the Green Bay Packers in their season opener, passing for three touchdowns in leading his team to a 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints Thursday.

Rodgers completed 27 of 35 passes for 312 yards, with the scoring strikes going to three different players.

Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb collected the Packers TD catches.

Drew Brees had a pretty strong half behind center for the Saints, completing 14 of 21 passes for 169 yards and a score. He finished with three TD passes and 419 passing yards of his own but New Orleans never took a lead in the contest.

Randall Cobb saw to that with an electrifying 108 yard kickoff return for a third quarter score.

John Kuhn tacked on a one-yard scoring run for the Packers, who held the Saints to just 81 rushing yards on 21 attempts.

Darren Sproles snared five catches for 56 yards, while Robert Meachem hauled in the TD catch for the Saints in the first half.

Green Bay controlled the ball for nearly 20 minutes in the opening half and racked up 16 first downs to just 8 for New Orleans.
