Quarterback Rex Grossman is confident the depth of the Washington Redskins will carry them on top of the highly-competitive NFC East.

Grossman, who will likely start for the Redskins this season following the Donovan McNabb trade and the injury to John Beck, believes his team can compete with the beasts of NFC East, including the star-studded Philadelphia Eagles.

The 30-year-old Grossman said being ignored by the media will benefit the Redskins a lot.

"Nobody's talking about us -- that's right where we want to be. You look at us from top to bottom out here, there's a bunch of great players. And we don't need people saying we're the best right now. But when it's all said and done, I really feel like this team's gonna win the East," Grossman told reporters Wednesday.

Selected 22nd overall in the 2003 NFL Draft, Grossman sat his first three seasons due to injury before pulling off an outstanding year in 2006 - the year he led the Bears all the way to a Super Bowl berth.

After serving as a backup for three seasons, Grossman got another crack at starting for the Redskins following the season-ending injury to Donovan McNabb.
