Notre Dame will play five football games against ACC opponents in the first season of its partial ACC schedule next year.

Based on their schedule, the Fighting Irish will host Louisville, North Carolina and Wake Forest. They will also visit Florida State and play a road game against Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The schedule is part of Notre Dame's move to the ACC in all sports but football. The addition of Notre Dame to the ACC's schedule will be a boost for the league as the implementation of a new playoff format begins in 2014.

"The football partnership between the ACC and Notre Dame will not only enhance our league's already ambitious football schedules but also will provide terrific fan excitement," said ACC commissioner John Swofford in a statement.

"One of the benefits, moving forward, is that almost all of our student-athletes will have an opportunity to play against Notre Dame during their ACC careers which is extremely special," Swofford added.

With the schedule, every ACC team is guaranteed to play the Fighting Irish once every three years, and each ACC school will host Notre Dame at least once every six seasons.

In 2015, Notre Dame will host Boston College and Georgia Tech and visit Clemson, Pittsburgh and Virginia.

In 2016, Notre Dame will host Duke, Miami and Virginia Tech and visit NC State and Syracuse.
