The La Salle Explorers won their third NCAA tournament game in 5 days thanks to Tyrone Garland's layup with 2 seconds remaining to beat Ole Miss 76-74 on Sunday. The victory advances the 13th-seeded Explorers to the Sweet 16. It is La Salle's best showing in the NCAA tournament since they played for the 1955 NCAA Championship.

In a game with 11 lead changes, Ole Miss took a 74-72 lead with 1:58 left. But Ole Miss was shut out for the remainder of the game as their star -- Marshall Henderson -- was unable to score. La Salle's Tyreek Duren converted two free throws to knot the game at 74 with 1:07 remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Marshall Henderson's air-ball resulted in a shot clock violation which gave possession back to La Salle with 33 seconds remaining. On their last possession, La Salle was able to run down the clock with a few seconds remaining when Tyrone Garland saw the opening for his drive to the basket. Garland worked his way to the basket and made his game-winning "Southwest Philly Floater."

The game ended on Ole Miss' desperation heave.

Unfortunately, Ole Miss was unable to convert at the free-throw line shooting under 50% (10 for 21) as a team.
