Atlanta, Georgia

Mitch McGary racked up 10 points and 12 rebounds while Tim Hardaway Jr. had 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as the Michigan Wolverines notched a 61-56 win over the Syracuse Orange in Saturday's Final Four showdown at Georgia Dome.

The Wolverines return to the National Championship game since the Fab 5's title dream came to a crashing end after Chris Webber's infamous timeout call in Michigan's loss to North Carolina in the 1993 NCAA men's basketball tournament final.

Michigan, who leaned on Wooden Player of the Year Trey Burke throughout the tourney, got an unexpected power source from McGary and Hardaway, who did an amazing job on both ends of the floor.

The Wolverines led by as many as 11 points in the second half, but the Orange stormed back to get within a single point, 57-56, with 42 seconds left.

Syracuse even had a chance to take the lead but Brandon Triche committed a questionable offensive foul while driving hard to the basket.

Jon Horford split his free-throws to give Michigan a 59-56 lead with 18 seconds left. Jordan Morgan sealed the deal for the Wolverines with a breakaway dunk, however.

C.J Fair starred for Syracuse with 22 points while James Sunderland and Michael Carter-Williams struggled on the floor.

Michigan takes on the Louisville Cardinals in Monday's National Championship game at Georgia Dome.

Attacking Syracuse's suffocating zone defense in the first half with 3-pointers, crisp passing and a fearless attitude, the Wolverines advanced to the national championship game with a 61-56 victory over the Orange in the Final Four on Saturday
