Washington, DC
Utilizing a trapping 2-3 zone defense, Syracuse advanced to the 2013 Final Four by shutting down Big East rival Marquette, 55-39. The Orange held the Marquette Golden eagles to 22.6 percent shooting (12-of-53) from the field, including 3-of-24 from 3-point range. The Golden Eagles were held to just 18 points at halftime.
Syracuse's shut down of Marquette 55-39 in the Elite Eight earned Jim Boeheim his first trip to the Final Four since Carmelo Anthony -- then a freshman -- helped win the 2003 NCAA title
