Lady Gaga: Pop Sensation Transforms Music Video Culture

From the day Lady Gaga asked Cher to hold her meat purse, it's been a friendship made in MTV history. Now, Cher is hard at work on her 26th studio album and she's got a duet with the "Born This Way" singer.

Gaga previously revealed that she'd contributed a song, titled "The Greatest Thing," for Cher's latest album. But now both stars reveal that it'll actually be a duet.

"Who knew a year ago when I was crying in her arms after she gave me an award, that today we would record a duet. @Cher You are The Greatest," Gaga tweeted.

Cher presented Gaga with the "Video of the Year" award at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, which she won for "Bad Romance," where Gaga wore her memorable meat dress, and they struck up a friendship.

"Can hardly wait 4 GT 2 Come Out! Was XCITED 'Bout Making New cd, But Wasn't Expecting BIG Surprises...& THEN...... SURPRISE ! GAGA ! DUET!" Cher tweeted herself.

It's Cher's first studio album since 2001's "Living Proof," which yielded the #1 club hits "Song for the Lonely," "A Different Kind of Love Song," and "When the Money's Gone."
