Barbra Streisand 'What Matters Most'

After Barbra Streisand earned her ninth #1 album two years ago and became the only artist to have a #1 album in five different decades with "Love Is the Answer," she could be going for 10 with her latest album, "What Matters Most - Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics of Alan And Marilyn Bergman (Deluxe Edition) (2 CDs)."

The album will feature Streisand performing all-new songs exclusively from her longtime friends and collaborators, responsible for her hits "The Way We Were," "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," and "Papa Can You Hear Me?"

The songs on "What Matters Most" include covers of their Academy Award-winning "The Windmills of Your Mind," the Frank Sinatra-sung "Nice 'n' Easy," and "That Face," as first recorded by Fred Astaire.

"Alan and Marilyn Bergman have a remarkable gift for expressing affairs of the heart," Barbra Streisand said.

"When we write a song, we hear Barbra," said lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman. "She makes the connection from the heart to the mind, and it emerges through her voice."

"What Matters Most," hitting stores on August 23rd, will include a 24-page color booklet. It will also be released a deluxe edition, with previously released Barbra vocal performances of Bergman classics, including "Pieces of Dreams" and "The Way We Were."
