Deadly Terror in Turkey
By Dyfed Loesche
Turkey has been hit hard by terror attacks in the past year. In the most recent attack on a nightclub in Istanbul on New Year's Eve an assailant shot 39 people.
The Islamic state (IS) has taken responsibility for this act of senseless violence.
Other attacks are connected to the ongoing unrest in the Kurdish dominated South East of the country. According to the Associated Press, there were close to 630 dead, including the nightclub shooting on New Year's Eve and the Military Coup in July, which alone claimed 270 fatalities. Many more were wounded.
