Ottawa, ON, Canada

Kyle Turris scored in overtime to carry the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens that gave them a 3-1 lead in their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at Scotiabank Place.

Turris took a shot from the sideboards that snuck past Canadiens backup goalie Peter Budaj, putting the Senators on the brink of advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Mika Zibanejad and Cory Conacher also scored while Craig Anderson had 26 saves for the Senators, who can wrap up the series with a victory in Game 5 in Montreal.

P.K. Subban and Alex Galchenyuk scored 62 seconds apart in the second period while Carey Price had 30 saves before he was injured on the Senators' final scoring play. He did not come out in overtime and was replaced by Budaj.

In the first, Tomas Plekanec found Subban in the Senators' zone and the defenseman delivered a wrist shot past Anderson at 2:52 to make it 1-0.

Just 62 seconds later, Sergei Gonchar got caught in the neutral zone, allowing Galchenyuk to take a Jeff Halpern pass before beating Anderson with another top corner wrist shot at 3:54 to make it 2-0.

Faced with a two-goal deficit, the Senators stepped up their offense in the final 20 minutes. Their efforts paid off at 11:55 when Chris Neil fired a pass through the crease and the puck hit Zibanejad's skate before going in.

The play was called a goal on the ice and survived a video review for the rookie's first career goal in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Senators tied the count when Daniel Alfredsson centered the puck from behind the net and it bounced over to Conacher, who also scored his first career playoff goal to send the game to overtime.

Budaj started overtime in place of Price and stopped the first shot he saw from Jakob Silfverberg at 2:03 of the extra period. However, he missed a harmless-looking flip from Turris, sending the crowd of 20,500 into frenzy.
