Canada's new energy minister, Greg Rickford, says he hopes the Obama administration will "depoliticize" its decision on the Keystone XL pipeline, adding he is optimistic that Washington will eventually give the green light to the project, which is stoutly opposed by green groups.
Rickford was reacting to Washington's recent move to further delay a decision on whether to approve TransCanada Corp's Keystone XL Pipeline project, which would transport crude from the Alberta oil sands and northern U.S. states to the United States.
