By Fitzgerald Cecilio
J.J. Hardy doubled in Manny Machado with the game-winning run in the 13th inning, lifting the Baltimore Orioles to a 2-1 win over the New York Yankees, knotting the ALDS at two games each.
The Yankees offense continued to struggle, collecting just seven hits, with Derek Jeter and Jayson Nix rapping a pair each.
Robinson Cano, Nick Swisher, Russell Martin and Curtis Granderson combined to go hitless in 20 at-bats.
The Orioles stellar pitching had something to do with that, as starter Joe Saunders gave up just three hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings. Seven relievers followed up to pitch scoreless ball with Pedro Strop notching the win.
