Mercedes, Audi and BMW all displayed self-driving concept cars at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, giving a glimpse into the future of autos. Mike Janela (@mikejanela) has the story..

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has introduced a number of technologies over the years -- the first VCR, DVDs, HDTV. Not to mention Laserdisc Players. Actually, let's not mention Laserdisc Players.

Hey I'm Mike Janela for Buzz60. But at this year's CES, it's not household electronics stealing the show -- it's cars. A record 10 car makers are displaying futuristic technology at this year's show, ranging from Audi to Volvo. I dare you to find an American car maker that starts with the letter Z.

The stars of the show are self-driving cars, like this futuristic Mercedes F 015 prototype, which even looks like a time machine. BMW's i3 electric car found a parking spot all by itself at CES using sensors, a parking garage map ... and no driver. And Audi even put journalists into a car that drove itself on highways from Northern California to Las Vegas in time for the show, with no negative incidents and minimal driver intrusion.
