A mass wedding organized by South Korea's Unification Church was attended by about 4,000 couples from 50 countries, including newlyweds from Italy, Britain and Japan.

SOUNDBITE: Michael Schroder from the U.K., saying (English): "Really excited. Everyone is so happy to finally get married and be with their spouses." The church says another 12,000 couples joined in via the Internet. Hak Ja Han, wife of deceased founder of the church, Reverend Sun Myung Moon, officiated the mass ceremony. Called the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, the church was founded in 1954 by Moon, who declared he and his wife messiahs. The organization has come under fire for its large weddings because couples are matched by the church and some meet their future spouses just before the wedding.
