Yanks Seek Cash Back: Want GM to Return in 2012

NY, NY
The New York Yankees brass has indicated it wants General Manager Brian Cashman to return to the post for the 2012 season and beyond, according to a published report.
Despite the GM saying he was outdone by the Red Sox in offseason moves, the Yanks won the AL East over Boston.
"Clearly, we want him back," Yankees president Randy Levine told ESPNNewYork.com.
The feeling appears to be mutual, as Cashman has grown to love the winning in New York and has become comfortable in dealing with the pack of reporters that cover the team.
"We have a great relationship," Cashman told ESPNNewYork.com on Monday. "I work for a great owner, but we really haven't talked about the future. Now is not the time to talk about that, to be quite honest. That's all for another day. They know that I would like to come back and we have a good working relationship, but we'll deal with that stuff on another day."
That "other day" will likely come soon after the end of the Yanks season, as long as it goes.
