No. 17 Michigan State amassed a whopping 434-48 advantage in total yards over Florida Atlantic Saturday and posted a 44-0 victory at Spartan Stadium.

Le'Veon Bell and Edwin Baker both had touchdown runs and Kirk Cousins threw a touchdown pass while Dan Conroy added a pair of field goals to lift the Spartans to a 27-0 halftime lead over Florida Atlantic.

For the game, Cousins was 16-of-21 for 183 yards. Bell had 69 yards to lead all ball carriers.

Michigan State had a 263-26 advantage in total yards in the first half.

MSU added insurance points in the second half on Cousins' 8-yard pass to Garrett Celek, a 28-yard field goal by reserve kicker Kevin Muma and Jeremy Langford's 37-yard return of a fumble recovery when his team was on offense.

The Spartans opened the scoring on a 51-yard drive early in the first quarter with Baker scoring on a 9-yard scamper. Late in the quarter, Bell bolted in from two yards out to cap off a 73-yard drive.

Conroy split the uprights on field goal tries of 50 and 41 yards in the second quarter. Late in the quarter, Cousins passed for a yard to Dion Sims for a touchdown.

B.J. Cunningham caught five passes for 73 yards. His first catch put him at 149 in his career for an MSU school record. Alfred Morris had 21 yards rushing for the Owls.

The Spartans are 2-0. The Owls, led by coaching legend, 77-year-old Howard Schnellenberger, are 0-2.

Schnellenberger is in his 51st year of coaching.
