Waco, TX
It looks like the Baylor Bears are going to have a big hole to fill next season.
According to a report, quarterback and 2011 Heisman winner Robert Griffin III will leave Baylor and declare himself eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft.
According to ESPN, Griffin will leave Baylor and is currently shopping for agents. His parents did not agree with his decision at first but have given their blessing.
Griffin is being projected as high as a No. 2 pick, going behind Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is Jan. 15.
Griffin, 21, was second in the country in QB rating (189.5) and first in yards per attempt average (10.68) while leading the Baylor Bears to a 10-3 record this season. In what was likely his last game as a Bear he helped guide Baylor to a wild 67-56 victory over Washington in the Alamo Bowl.
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is regarded as the top overall pick in this April's draft, but Griffin now will likely be the second quarterback taken and could go as high as No. 2 in the draft.
