Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III captured the 2011 Heisman Trophy in a presentation in New York City Saturday.

The outstanding signal-caller edged out another player at the same position, Stanford's Andrew Luck, for the honor. Griffin racked up 405 first-place votes and 1,687 total points.

Luck finished runner-up for the second consecutive year, with 247 first-place votes and 1,407 points while Alabama back Trent Richardson was a distant third with 138 and 978.

Wisconsin's Montee Ball had 22, 348 while LSU's versatile Tyrann Mathieu collected 34, 127.

Southern Cal quarterback Matt Barkley, Houston quarterback Case Keenum and Boise State signal-caller Kellen Moore rounded out the votes.
