BCS Title Game: Alabama 21 - LSU 0

New Orleans, LA

Jeremy Shelley booted five field goals and No. 2 Alabama's defense manhandled No. 1 LSU's offense in posting a 21-0 win in Monday's BCS title game.

Shelley connected on kicks of 23, 34 and 41 yards in the opening half to help Alabama build a 9-0 lead. His 35 and 44 yard boots in the third quarter gave Alabama an insurmountable 15-0 lead.

LSU was squeezed all night, collecting just five first downs and 92 yards of total offense.

Alabama controlled both sides of the ball, with Trent Richardson piling up 96 yards rushing, including the game's lone touchdown on a 34 yard romp with 4:36 remaining to completely put the game out of reach.

AJ McCarron completed 23 of 34 passes for 234 yards to provide some balance for the Crimson Tide, who improved to 12-1 with the win, avenging their lone setback of the season.

The Tigers dropped to 13-1 for their lone loss of the season after toppling 'Bama 9-6 in overtime on Nov. 5.
