Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan is unfazed by threats he received on his Twitter account after he committed a costly penalty in his team's 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

"The only thing I take seriously is football and family," Morgan told the Washington Examiner. "Nothing really scares me. I'm from D.C."

"I heard everything, especially when they get you on Twitter and are sending you death threats and wishing you bad things and your first born," added Morgan, a receiver in his first year with the Redskins after four seasons in San Francisco.

Morgan said the threats he received on Twitter were similar to those sent to Kyle Williams last year when he fumbled a kickoff return in the fourth quarter and a punt return in overtime of the 49ers loss to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship game.

"You see it all, you hear it all. They treated me like they did Kyle Williams last year. It's all over my Twitter," he said.

Morgan said he did not respond to any of the threats so as not to escalate the situation. "You're not supposed to respond. You're supposed to respond by your actions, and that's what I'm gonna do," he said.

In the fourth quarter against St. Louis, Morgan gained seven yards on a reception with 1:27 left and took exception to Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan's shoving shortly after he was ruled down.

Morgan stood up and threw the ball at Finnegan, drawing the penalty. It moved the Redskins back from a potential fourth-and-short conversion to fourth-and-16, which led to a missed 62-yard field goal.

The Redskins fined Morgan an undisclosed amount for his penalty and the receiver vowed not to commit the costly mistake again.

"Especially with coach Mike Shanahan, none of us are dumb enough to make the same mistake twice," Morgan said.
