Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has been under fire since New York mediocre 8-8 showing last season, with the team also acquiring Tim Tebow to perhaps push the starter into improving.

Coach Rex Ryan is pleased with what he sees from Sanchez thus far in Jets organized team activities.

"He's really zipping it," the Jets coach said Thursday, according to nj.com. "He's also throwing with touch and things. I really like the way he is throwing the football."

Sanchez said his mental frame of mind is good, accounting for his comfort in camp thus far.

"Don't get caught up in who completed what ball, who didn't, don't even let your mind go there," Sanchez said. "It's not worth the time. It's a waste. Just focus on the next play, have a short memory and keep playing. Be the leader this team needs."

Tight end Dustin Keller likes what he sees from the team's offense and thinks it can succeed.

"Last year, we were more than anything a really game-plan specific team," tight end Dustin Keller said. "You may see a heavy running game one game and throwing the ball 70 times the next. But I think we know who we are now: We're a power football team that can throw the ball, and we're just trying to sharpen that up now."
