Raiders Eyeing Mike Holmgren for Front Office Post
Cesar Tordesillas
Oakland, CA
The Oakland Raiders are recruiting former coach Mike Holmgren fora leadership position.
Holmgren, 64, would be a natural candidate having worked with Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie at Green Bay. He was a Packers coach when McKenzie joined the team's front office in 1994.
For several months, the Raiders have been looking at potential new leaders for the team but there is no timetable for the Raiders to find a top front office executive. It's unclear exactly what position is being offered to Holmgren.
According to a source, Holmgren has visited the Raiders to talk about the position.
Part of the job would be to lead the quest for a new stadium.
Holmgren, who has been to Super Bowls with Green Bay and Seattle, spent the last three seasons as president of the Cleveland Browns before he was forced out after an ownership change.
