In less than a week Jerry Jones has fired Rob Ryan and hired his replacement.
The Dallas Cowboys have secured the services of longtime NFL assistant Monte Kiffin as their new defensive coordinator
Kiffin's hiring means the Cowboys would have to switch from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 team, allowing linebacker DeMarcus Ware to play defensive end for the first time in his career.
Kiffin, who also received offers from Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, has been a renowned defensive coordinator for 26 years, half of those spent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
During his tenure with the Bucs, Kiffin developed the Tampa 2 defense and the was chief architect of one of the fearsome defenses the NFL has ever seen.
