Matt Flynn agreed to a multi-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

A former backup to Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers, Flynn appears to have the inside track to becoming the starter in Seattle.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but ESPN reported it could be worth $26 million, including $10 million guaranteed.

The Miami Dolphins had been considered the favorite for Flynn after naming Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin as their head coach. Flynn visited with the Dolphins but won't follow Philbin to Miami.

Instead, Flynn will try to become the next Matt Hasselbeck, who went to Seattle after serving as Brett Favre's backup in Green Bay.

A seventh-round draft choice out of Louisiana State in 2008, Flynn opened eyes in his only start last season when he threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns - both franchise records - in a 45-41 win over Detroit.
