Romeo Crennel, who managed to keep the Chiefs focused and confident despite struggles this season, will reportedly be rewarded as he becomes the full-time front man in Kansas City.

According to reports, the Chiefs are planning to remove the interim tag on Crennel's title.

He took over the head coaching job when the team dismissed third-year head coach Todd Hale after going 19-27 during his tenure.

Under Crennel, the Chiefs went 2-1. Kansas City's stunning Week 15 win over the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers may have bolstered Crennel's retention.

Crennel's previous and only head coaching stint was with the Cleveland Browns (2005-08).

He was 24-40 with his Cleveland teams. Crennel was fired by the Browns on December 2008 following a disappointing 4-12 season.
