As expected, former San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner has joined the Cleveland Browns as offensive coordinator.

Turner's son, Scott, also joined new Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski's staff as wide receivers coach.

Chudzinski is also interviewing Raheem Morris, the Washington Redskins' defensive-backs coach, for the defensive coordinator position.

"Norv has been one of the most respected offensive coaches in the NFL over the last 25-30 years, and he has had a tremendous amount of success at each one of his stops - as a position coach, coordinator and head coach," Chudzinski said.

"I was able to learn a great deal in the time that I worked for him in San Diego, and I expect that having him as our offensive coordinator will make a big impact on that side of the ball," he added.

Chudzinski worked with Turner, a 27-year coaching veteran, in San Diego during the 2009-2010 season.

Considered one of the league's best offensive minds, Norv has been the head coach of three different teams over his 27-year career, with stints for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.

Turner was fired after six seasons in San Diego last week after a 7-9 season. He led the Chargers to three first place finishes in the AFC West and three playoff appearances over his six seasons. He has an overall head-coaching record of 114-122-1.
