Columbus, OH

In line with its plan to beef up its nonconference schedules in the coming years, Ohio State University will renew its rivalry with the TCU Horned Frogs with the Buckeyes traveling to Fort Worth on Sept. 15, 2018 as part of a home-and-home series.

OSU and the Horned Frogs announced a non-conference home-and-home series Tuesday.

Last week Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith indicated plans to boost their nonconference schedules in the coming years, while scaling back their games against MAC opponents.

"Competing against programs from the state of Texas has always offered exciting experiences for our players and fans," Smith said via the team's website. "TCU continues to be one of the top football programs in the country."

After the Buckeyes invade Amon G. Center Stadium on September 2018, they will host the Horned Frogs on Sept. 21, 2019 at Ohio Stadium.

The two schools have collided six times, the last in 1973. Ohio State currently holds a 4-1-1 series edge.

All those six encounters have been held at Ohio Stadium.

The Horned Frogs last clashed with a Big Ten opponent in the 2011 Rose Bowl, where they claimed a 21-19 win over Wisconsin.

Ohio State (5-0), coming off a Week 5 17-16 victory over Michigan State, will next square off against Nebraska Saturday, Oct. 6.

The Horned Frogs, currently 4-0 this year and riding a nation's best 12-game winning streak, will next see action on Oct. 6 against Iowa State.
