Milwaukee, WI

Coach Scott Skiles and the Milwaukee Bucks have mutually agreed to part ways.

The team has yet to announce the development, but Bucks assistant coach Jim Boylan will assume as head coach, according to USA Today.

The Bucks are 16-16 this season and have lost four straight games. Skiles has been the coach of the Bucks since the 2008-09 season, compiling a 162-182 record.

He led the Bucks to the playoffs once, in 2009-10, when the team lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. Previous to Milwaukee, he coached the Phoenix Suns for two and a half seasons and had five seasons as Chicago Bulls coach in 2007-08.

Overall, Skiles has a record of 443-433 in 13 seasons. NBA.com reported earlier that Skiles, in the last year of his contract, told the Bucks he didn't want to return after this season.

Despite some contract wrangling, sources said there was no animosity either way. Skiles is fond of owner Herb Kohl, and vice versa, but the pair apparently couldn't come to terms on a long-term pact.
